National PlatformsThe national Dalit platforms in the caste-affected countries are driving forces to assert Dalit human rights. These platforms constitute the backbone of IDSN.National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights (NCDHR) – India:
NCDHR is part of a wider struggle committed to abolish
’untouchability’ and elimination of discrimination based
on caste. It is a non-political and secular platform led by
Dalit human rights activists with support from a range of
movements, organisations and individuals, who work to protect
and promote the human rights of Dalits. NCHDR
campaigns and advocates at the national, regional and
international level, including the United Nations. Dalit
NGO Federation (DNF) – Nepal:
The Federation brings together Dalit NGOs and constitutes a
collective voice for Dalit rights at national level. DNF
prioritises awareness raising, human rights, education, health
as well as self-reliant economic development for Dalits and

BLL, the successor of the Suheisha (National Levellers
Association) is an organisation devoted to the eradication of
Buraku discrimination.
Dalit Solidarity Networks have been established in the US,
Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, France, Denmark and Sweden by
development and human rights organisations and committed
individuals.The networks
undertake campaigning, alert the media and call upon governments
to promote and support action to eliminate caste discrimination.
The solidarity networks work in close cooperation with dalit
organisations and national advocacy groups in South Asia. |
